DRAMA WORKSHOPS

Building on last year’s highly successful series of theatre workshops, we have invited Red Dog, a professional theatre company, to run this year’s workshops in the Cotswold Room at the Painswick Centre on Saturdays 14th and 28th April and 5th May from 10.00am to 1.00pm. These workshops are great fun, no acting experience is necessary and non-members will be especially welcome to join us. The fee for the series of three workshops (including coffee and biscuits) is £40 for members and £45 for non-members. Please register your interest with Jean Burgess (812167 or jeanb@painswick.net).

LAST TANGO IN PAINSWICK

Following George Krasker’s ambitious and enjoyable double bill in January we are now preparing their Summer Arts Festival production Last Tango in Painswick, a hilarious staging of two David Tristram plays at the Painswick Centre. A goodly number of brave souls turned up at last month’s auditions and we now have a splendid cast who I’m convinced will have you rolling in the aisles! It takes a special kind of actor to take on such a challenging – or should I say ‘daring’ – role!  We will be recruiting a back-stage crew as well as actors so why not join us? Tickets will be on sale at the Post Office in June but make a note in your diaries now: Thursday 19th, Friday 20th and Saturday 21st July!

PLAY READINGS

Our regular series of play readings continues on Tuesday 24 April in the Green Room at the Painswick Centre, starting at 7.30 pm.  These are always informal and very enjoyable occasions to which everyone is welcome (see the Village Diary).  For further information ‘phone Dave Carlile (01452-812381)

Do spread the word, everyone will be assured of a very warm welcome  J.
